I take great pride in serving as the Principal of Saint Mary’s Special School, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website.

Saint Mary’s Special School is located in Navan and is dedicated to providing education for children with moderate, severe, and profound intellectual disabilities, as well as students on the autism spectrum. We offer educational programmes for both primary and secondary age children.

Recently, we relocated to a brand-new, purpose-built facility at the Johnson Education Campus, and we are truly delighted with our new home. Our school motto, ‘Festina Lente’ which translates to ‘make haste slowly’ reflects our approach to all school activities, emphasising the importance of balancing urgency with diligence to help our students achieve their long-term goals. This philosophy influences every aspect of our work.

Saint Mary’s Special School is a vibrant, warm, and nurturing environment where each child is celebrated and valued, as you will see throughout our website. Our curriculum is well-defined, broad, and enriching, designed to support our pupils in realising their unique potential. We firmly believe in the abilities of every child.

We maintain close working relationships with our students’ families and are committed to tirelessly supporting them in developing functional communication and the skills necessary for leading fulfilling lives. We are always striving for improvement in our provision for our wonderful pupils and hold high expectations for each individual. Our experienced staff ensure that the specific needs of every student are met through small class sizes and personalized group instruction.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope you find the information you are seeking. If not, please feel free to reach out to us.

Sincerely,

Maria Corredor Saiz
